Hi, I am Sherry, a plus sized woman living in Australia with my partner David. Yes, thats us in the picture above.
During my time here, I have become more and more dissatisfied with the clothing available to women here in Australia, especially when there is around 60% of us in the plus size cantegory .
How many times have you gone to your local mall or shopping centre and seen hundreds of women just like yourself, all plus sized and nearly all of the clothing outlets are for 8-16sized women. It is really hard some days to find women who would meet that criteria and if they do, they are usually still in high school uniform.
The few retail outlets that do sell clothing for plus sizes are generally either highly priced, or stock a few racks of unimaginative clothing often at the back of the store.
Big girls are just as sexy as small ones, if not more so. So why is it that in 'the lucky country' there are ladies buying clothing for themselves from the menswear section of department stores because there is nothing approaching their size for sale in the womens section?
Why is it that so many of us are walking around in trackies and T's because thats all thats freely available in our size?
Why are big girls relegated to looking like overstuffed sacks of potatoes because there are no decent bras, panties and bodyshapers around unless you want to pay ridiculous prices, or you have to wear 'Nana undies'?
Is it that manufacturers think that big sized women dont like lace or a bit of feminine embroidery?
It seems that other places they do and are catered for, so why not here?
Well... I have decided to fight back and as I demand quality, style and a reasonable price for my clothing, I figured that there would be a lot more ladies out there like me.
Here you will not find dresses from rent-a-tent or shapeless t-shirts and baggy trackies.
Here you will find some style, some class and lots and lots of tips on how to wear your clothes, how to measure yourself correctly and general lifestyle articles for the larger lady.
